Salaries and Allowances Tribunal
The Tribunal is established under the Salaries and Allowances Act 1975, and has the responsibility for both determining and recommending rates of remuneration for the Governor, Members of Parliament, Judges, Magistrates, the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission, Clerks of the Parliament, Commissioners of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission, CEOs of local government areas, Members of the Special Division of the Public Service and Prescribed Office Holders.
The entitlements of Former Premiers, Ministers and Members of Parliament are also determined by the Tribunal.
Amendments in 2000 have placed the majority of the Parliamentary Superannuation Act 1970 under the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, including the determining of a new scheme more in line with community standards.
The Salaries and Allowances Act 1975 provides at section 5(2) for the Governor to appoint three members to the Tribunal for a three-year term and one of those members shall be appointed by the Governor as the Chairman of the Tribunal .
Chairman - Mr W S (Bill) Coleman AM Former Chief Commissioner and Commissioner of the WA Industrial Relations Commission 1986 - 2004. As Chief Commissioner WAIRC for 17 years, Mr Coleman has presided over all major public and private sector wage and salary cases in Western Australia. Appointed to the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal on 25 September 2007. |

Member - Mrs C A (Cathy) Broadbent A Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA). Operates her own Taxation and Accounting Practice following 21 years employment with a global Chartered Accounting group. Extensive background in taxation issues relating to Senior Executives and their remuneration. Current Council Member of Perth College.

Member - Mr B J (Brian) Moore Currently President of the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes. Formerly Chair of the Parliamentary Remuneration Reference Group and Executive Officer to the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal for eighteen years. Extensive background in classification issues, parliamentary and judicial remuneration. |
